Congratulations to Shipyard Brewing Company and filmmaker Benjamin Keller for winning 'Best Maine Film' at the Maine Outdoor Film Festival for our collaboration documentary, "For Beer's Sake"

What's the most important ingredient in beer? The water. Clean water, great beer. Luckily in Maine, we have both! That’s why the Maine Brewshed Alliance, a coalition of craft brewers and the Natural Resources Council of Maine is working to bring awareness to the need to protect this valuable and necessary resource.

“For Beer’s Sake” was produced by Shipyard Brewing Company and features a number of Maine Brewshed Alliance breweries: Foundation Brewing Company, Allagash Brewing Company, Austin Street Brewery, Goodfire Brewing Company, Shipyard Brewing, Rising Tide Brewing, Lone Pine Brewery, Geary Brewing Company, Bissell Brothers Brewing Company and our friends at Loon Echo Land TrustSebago Clean Waters and Portland Water District.

Watch the documentary!

Now, more than ever during these troubling times, we should look for opportunities to remind ourselves of our valuable community and of what we can accomplish together.

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize the one-year anniversary of an exciting collaboration we launched last year with Maine’s craft brewers. On March 27, 2019, 13 Maine breweries and the Natural Resources Council of Maine came together to create the Maine Brewshed Alliance with the goal of leveraging the power of partnerships to protect the waterways that make our state a great place to live, work, brew, and enjoy great beer.

October 9, 2019 - river clean-up with mast landing!

25 enthusiastic volunteers joined forces in the City of Westbrook over the weekend to celebrate clean water, great beer, & a litter-free Presumpscot River!

Together with the Maine Brewshed Alliance & Mast Landing Brewing Company, folks picked up trash along the river's banks & then enjoyed a cold one while learning about efforts to protect Maine's waters.
